Double-faced wool and cotton rug is woven in a vertical loom.

The pattern represents the ears of corn, a symbol of the bread, of the harvest. It signifies fertility, death, and rebirth. The process of sowing, growing, and harvesting resembles the cycle of birth, life, and death. In the traditional mentality, corn indicates the fertility of the earth and abundance.
The pattern is reproduced from a rug dating from the end of the 19th century.
